Ford Motor Company is an automotive brand manufacturer that distributes vehicles, accessories, and parts, across the globe. The company was founded by Henry Ford in 1903, in Dearborn, Michigan, United States.
The company has produced automobiles, buses, tractors, trucks, sedans, SUVs, and other vehicles for retail sale, commercial sale, rental purposes, and governments. Their initiatives include compressed natural gas, flexible fuel vehicles, electric drive vehicles, hydrogen, and power management.
COVID-19
With the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus), Ford has announced its plan to partner with GE Healthcare to make 50,000 ventilators by July. They look to develop these ventilators to meet clinical expertise standards.
Ford has been following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Health Organization. The have provided a COVID-19 visitor questionnaire for their workforce that assesses whether a visitor or employee has returned from a concerning country,have been in care or contact with someone diagnosed with the virus, or has any symptoms related to the virus.
Ford has partnered with General Electric to accelerate the production of ventilators as they are in high demand. Some of the other ways that Ford has been providing assistance includes directing over $500,000 to help non-profit groups in Michigan to help support food delivery to senior citizens and children who don't have access to school meals. They have also offered their customers with a six month payment relief.
