Fractal is a marketplace for gaming Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), which are durable assets that let you do specific things inside of a gaming universe. The mission Fractal has is to create an open platform for the free exchange of digital goods. To achieve this goal, Fractal has partnered up with the best gaming companies that are launching NFTs and are building tools with the goal of helping them reach customers at scale. The company was founded by Justin Kan and was intended to leverage the transparency and security of the digital ledger of a blockchain network and authenticate unique digital items.

The Fractal Platform is built around providing players with opportunities in gaming through play-to-earn titles, where they can shop for avatars and digital goods. Fractal focuses on building support for existing crypto games ahead of launch, but has the potential to eventually become a "Kickstarter" project for future games, which will allow users to buy exclusive non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in pre-sales, which can help fund the creation of games.

Through the utilization of Fractal, players are able to discover, buy, and sell gaming-related non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Fractal through the primary market, which are initial drops by gaming companies, and through the secondary market, also known as peer-to-peer (P2P) trading. The goal of Fractal, in this case, is to create an infrastructure for emergent use-cases in regards to NFTs, such as lending or scholarship models in some specific play-to-earn games.

Each Fractal belongs to one of four factions, including:

• Quad
• Penta
• Hexa

The faction essentially dictates what shapes the Fractal is constructed from, as well as the color it ends up emitting. The Tri fraction is the largest and contains a total of 70,000 fractals, while the Hexa faction is the smallest and only contains 1,000 fractals.

Alongside the factions, each Fractal has its own specific power level, ranging from 23 to 100. The higher power fractals have a higher level of rarity associated with them, as they aren’t easy to find in nature due to their instability. Users can quickly determine the power level of a fractal by its size as well as its complexity. Each Fractal is a dynamic cluster of energy and can change over time.

Fractals have a variety of different attributes, some of which aren't visible from the image. These are their faction, power, name, purity, velocity, spin, and altitude. Games might choose to utilize these attributes in whichever way they see fit. This means that a player could unlock special powers once they collect one of each faction, or the fractals with high purity could unlock specific, secret doors within a game. The possibilities here are endless.

Genopets is what is known as a move-to-earn, massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that essentially rewards players who have an active lifestyle. A Genopet is a generative non-fungible token (NFT) that evolves as the player exercises. The game transforms the real movements of a player into SKI tokens, which can be used in battle or for crafting valuable items and upgrading the Genopet’s style and performance.

Mini Royale: Nations (MRN) is a browser-based, first-person shooting game set on top of a land control-oriented, social strategy game that puts a specific focus on clans, alliances, and interaction mechanics. It has an open economy, specifically created to reward collaboration and community efforts, where players can build a fun and social experience within the metaverse together.

Nyan Heroes is a non-fungible token (NFT) based third-person battle royale game that is specifically built on top of the Solana Blockchain, where players can collect Nyans and their accompanying giant robots. Through doing this, they can enter the Play2Earn Metaverse in a battle against one another, and they will be saving real kitties through partnerships with various animal charities.

Panzerdogs is an online player-versus-player (PVP) tank brawler game with play-to-earn (P2E) mechanics, which was developed by Lucky Kat. Players can craft and build custom tanks through which they can battle against each other through a variety of different game modes.

Photo Finish is an authentic representation of the horse racing sport, where a team of veteran developers from EA Sports and FanDuel have collaborated to build a simulation engine that is utilized by NBC on Triple Crown Races. Players can own their horses and generate revenue through racing, selling, or breeding in a player-driven dual-token ecosystem. By getting at least one Stylish Stud NFT and one Fine Filly NFT, they can breed their own "Generation Zero" racehorse for the game.

The Sandbox is a virtual world, one in which players have the ability to build, own, and monetize their gaming experiences. The Sandbox is built on top of the Ethereum blockchain and has its own native cryptocurrency token known as SAND which is used as the main utility token within the platform.

Syn City is a Mafia-themed Metaverse. Syn City lets players raid loot, run businesses, build their own syndicates and dominate through a Mafia as a DAO (MaaD) system.

Aurory is a fantasy-themed action game that implements play-to-earn mechanics and follows the gameplay style of a Japanese role-playing game. Each player can explore a rich as well as diverse universe and travel across the world of Antik and Cryptos, where they can catch and trade magical creatures known as Nefties. Each trainer from across the globe can take part in duels, ranked tournaments, or other game modes.

The Crypto Cavemen Club is an exclusive NFT-based community that is centered specifically around the CAVE game token. The Cavemen have been thawing out of the arctic due to the warming climate. In this metaverse, they can battle in a player-versus-player (PVP) arena filled with rewards, which allows them to engage in crafting, get chest boxes, and to real-estate purchases.

Fractal started with a team of serial entrepreneurs.

• Justin Kan co-founded Twitch and has been investing in the crypto space since 2013, alongside being an advisor to decentralized projects such as Theta and Audius.
• Robin Chan founded as well as sold a mobile game company known as XPD Media to Zynga and was head of Zynga Asia.
• David Wurtz was the co-founder of Google Drive and an advisor at Shopify.
• Mike Angell is an e-commerce veteran with over 20 years of experience and has worked at Fast and Shopify.
