Duke of lorraine
Francis I, Duke of Lorraine (born August 23, 1517 - died June 12, 1545) was a French monarch who ruled over the region of Lorraine from 1544 to 1545. He was born in Nancy, France, the eldest son of Antoine, Duke of Lorraine, and Renée de Bourbon.
During his lifetime, Francis I held French nationality and was a citizen of France. Francis was the father of several children, including Charles III, Duke of Lorraine, Renée of Bourbon, Renata of Lorraine, and Dorothea of Lorraine.
Francis I passed away on June 12, 1545, in Remiremont, France.
