Grove Ventures is a venture capital firm established in 2015. The firm was founded by Dov Moran. Its headquarters is located in Tel Aviv, Israel. Dov Moran who was the co-founder and CEO of USB flash drive developer M-Systems Inc., is a managing partner at Grove. As of February 2019, the firm manages nine active companies in its portfolio and has sold off its shares in one company.
Grove Ventures invests investment areas include IoT, cloud and big data. The company supports mainly Israeli start-ups through inception and growth by providing capital, expertise and networks. The Grove Ventures team is comprised of entrepreneurs, company builders and experienced investors. Grove Ventures investment strategy focuses on technology and whether it would have a major impact on a large market. Partner Guy Resheff explained in an interview that these technologies that they invest in have deep scientific components that can be hard to assess.
Grove Ventures invests on Israeli companies. The firm provides funding for companies at the early stage of development. It is financing companies operating in various sectors of industry, with past examples being artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare technology, and construction industry software. As of February 2019, the firm has managed to raise a total fund of $110 million from one funding round held in October 2017.
In January 2019 Grove Ventures invested in Lumigo, a company providing a serverless operations platform to help its customers build cloud applications. Grove Ventures’ portfolio of companies include Nucleai Ltd (cancer detection), 3D Signals Ltd. (Industry 4.0), NeuroBlade (AI chip technology) and TriEye Ltd. Grove Ventures led a $3 million seed investment for TriEye in 2017, which develops Short-Wave-Infra-Red (SWIR) sensing technology for autonomous vehicle vision in low-visibility conditions. Other companies in their portfolio include Kiralis, Rapid API, lumigo, spry, Wiliot and astralink.
