Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is a 2011 British-American fantasy film directed by David Yates from a screenplay by Steve Kloves. Along with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, the movie serves as the conclusion to the Harry Potter film series. Both films are adaptations of J.K. Rowling's 2007 book of the same name. Deathly Hallows: Part 2 follows the wizard Harry Potter's quest to destroy the evil Lord Voldemort's seven Horcruxes and defeat him for good.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 features an ensemble cast, with Daniel Radcliffe starring as the titular character Harry Potter and Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as Harry's friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively. The film also includes performances from Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, John Hurt, and Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort.
The film was released July 13, 2011, to widespread critical acclaim. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 made $476 million in ticket sales on its opening weekend, earning $168.6 million in North America alone. Deathly Hallows: Part 2 was the only Harry Potter film to be released in 3D.
