HELENA BONHAM CARTER
Born May 26, 1966 in London, UK, the son of a banker and a psychoanalyst. The ancestral roots of the Carter family have a long history in England, among not far and distant ancestors - real aristocrats: lords, barons and knights.
Helena Bonham Carter graduated from Westminster College. She studied theater at Cambridge University.
She began acting in television series as a child ("Where Dreams Die", 1972). She first appeared in a major motion picture in "Lady Jane" (1985, released in 1986, directed by Trevor Nunn).
The actress became known primarily for her performance of roles of aristocrats in screen adaptations of English classical and romantic literature. Such works include: Ophelia in Hamlet (1990), Olivia in Twelfth Night, Anne Boleyn in Henry VIII.
Demonstrated himself as a truly modern actress, playing Marla Singer in the movie "Fight Club" (1999). The actress won an Oscar for the lead role in the drama "Wings of the Dove" (1998).
She has starred in almost every film by her husband, director Tim Burton.
