Henry II, Duke of Lorraine , was born on August 11, 1563, in Nancy, France . He was the son of Charles III, Duke of Lorraine , and Catherine de Bourbon , and a brother-in-law of Henry IV of France . His occupation was as a monarch , and he held French citizenship .
Henry was the father of three children: Nicole, Duchess of Lorraine , Claude Françoise de Lorraine , and Vincenzo Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua . He was known as "the Good" (le Bon) and became the Duke of Lorraine in 1608, a role he held until his death .
