Hexaware Technologies is an information technology (IT), business process outsourcing (BPO), and consulting services company based in Navi Mumbai, India. Hexaware was founded by Atul Nishar in 1990 and incorporated in 1992. The company has been led by CEO R Srikrishna since 2014. Hexaware has over forty offices in nineteen countries and has headquarters in four countries.
Hexaware Technologies was founded in India in 1990. It was later incorporated in 1992 as Aptech Information Systems Limited. The company's name changed to Aptech Limited in 1996. In April 2002, the name was changed to Hexaware Technologies.
Hexaware began operating in Europe and North America in 1995. By 2010, Hexaware had expanded operations to twenty countries and established a global delivery center in Bengaluru, India. Additional delivery centers were established throughout the 2010s, including in Singapore, Russia, Bucharest, and Pune. In August 2013, Hexaware was acquired by Baring Private Equity Asia for $465 million. In July 2017, Hexaware underwent a rebrand and unveiled a new logo in order to reflect its futuristic vision of "fearlessly challenging traditional IT approaches, helping reimagine businesses, shrinking IT costs, and embarking customers onto an optimistic digital future."
In November 2020, Hexaware's stock was voluntarily delisted from the National Stock Exchange. In September 2021, The Carlyle Group announced plans to raise more than $1 billion in order to acquire Hexaware in a planned $3 billion acquisition. The acquisition was completed in October 2021.
