Humboldt State University is a public educational institute located in Arcata, California, United States. It was founded in 1913 and is part of the California State University system. The university is named after Alexander von Humboldt. Its motto is "Light and Truth", and the university focuses on the industries of education, higher education, and university.
Humboldt State University holds accreditations from the WASC Senior College and University Commission, the American Chemical Society, and the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET. The institution is affiliated with organizations including the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the National Athletic Association, and the California State University System.
