Humin was a company that developed a contact management application. It was founded in 2013 by
Ankur Jain, Jake Medwell, Jonathan Shriftman, Daniel Pourbaba and David Wyler. The company also developed an additional application, Knock Knock, which allowed individuals who are nearby each other to share contact information. Humin was headquartered in San Francisco, California, United States. It was acquired in 2016 by Tinder.
Humin's application gave users the ability to put a context on a user's database of contacts. A contact information card about an individual does not only include emails, phone numbers, and relevant social media accounts but also information such as the last time you encounter the person, the location person lived in - all retrieved from publicly available information about the individual. Humin allows users to search for contacts based on this context-specific information. Other features available include the ability to be notified of possible future encounters with an individual in the database, based on information such as whether the person is going to be in town and the next possible meeting occurrence.
