Sasha pretends to agree, but at first tries to cheat, seeing that Nadia is completely crushed and sees no chance to recover. However, Shatalina quickly exposes him, and he is forced to act for real.At first, Sasha and Nadia can't stand each other, but the cheerful Sasha shows himself to be a good psychologist and begins to restore Nadia's faith in herself, first playing hard jokes on her, but then finding a common language. Soon it bears fruit: the sensitivity of the legs and the ability to move their fingers begin to return to Nadia. After that, they switch to physical therapy: Sasha starts taking Nadia to a local gym, where she restores atrophied leg muscles and learns to walk again. As a result, she gets back on her feet, and then returns to the ice.By this point, their relationship with Sasha had reached an almost romantic level. Sasha admits to Nadia that before hockey as a child, he also did figure skating for a while. As a result, Nadia persuades him to act as her partner in the number-return in his usual role of a hockey player. Sasha spends the whole next day in sad thoughts: he understands that he has fallen in love with Nadia and wants to be with her, but Vova's words have touched him too deeply. As a result, he gets drunk, comes to Nadia and lies to her that all this time he helped her only out of pity, leaving a big teddy bear he won at the shooting range.Nadia is teaming up with Vladimir again, but under the leadership of Shatalina. After a while, they perform at a big competition, but on the same side release, Hope falls again. Nadia wants to continue her performance, but Vladimir, not believing in success, explodes and says that in fact he always considered Nadia an insignificant figure skater and performed with her only because of her popularity among the people. Nadia leaves him and returns to the ice to perform alone, although it is against the rules.Sasha, who was watching the competition on TV, decides not to stay away and urgently gets to Sochi. Having penetrated into the stadium, he takes away his suit from the dejected Vladimir and goes out on the ice to Nadia. She tearfully demands from him to tell why he came, and he confesses his feelings to her. The judges refuse to start the music for them again, but Nadia's uncle, who was sitting with Margosha among the audience, starts singing himself, and then the whole hall picks up the song, and Nadia and Sasha perform a beautiful duet number to it, during which Nadia sees her mother's ghost on the podium.
Despite the fact that they were disqualified, Nadia and Sasha are happy, because now they are together both on and off the ice.
