Ida B. Wells

Ida B. Wells was born on July 16, 1862, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, and died on March 25, 1931, in Chicago. She held citizenship in the United States and had various occupations throughout her life, such as being a journalist, suffragette, writer, human rights activist, sociologist, and suffragist.

Wells was educated at Fisk University and Rust College. She is known by the alias Ida B. Wells-Barnett Iola. Throughout her career, she was a founder of the National Association of Colored Women's Clubs.
