Ilya Glazunov was a Russian painter, artist, philosopher, and teacher. He was born on June 10, 1930, in Saint Petersburg, Soviet Union (now Russia). His birth name was Ilya Sergeevich Glazunov. Glazunov studied at the Repin Institute of Arts.
Glazunov was known for his work in history painting and portraiture. He had a child named Ivan Ilyich Glazunov.
Throughout his career, Glazunov received many awards. Some of these awards included the titles of Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, and multiple levels of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland". He also received the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Medal "In memory of the 850th anniversary of Moscow", and the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
Ilya Glazunov passed away on July 9, 2017, in Moscow, Russia.
