Isadore Singer was a mathematician born in Detroit on April 24, 1924. He was a citizen of the United States. Singer studied at the University of Michigan and the University of Chicago. Throughout his career, Singer served as a doctoral advisor to notable mathematicians, including John Lott, Dan Freed, Hugo Rossi, and Richard L. Bishop. In total, he mentored more than ten doctoral students.
