Joan Rivers, born as Joan Alexandra Molinsky on June 8, 1933, was an American comedian, television presenter, film director, screenwriter, writer, journalist, and film producer. She was a citizen of the United States and was born in Brooklyn, New York City. Rivers passed away on September 4, 2014, at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.
Rivers was educated at Connecticut College, Barnard College, and Columbia University. She was the mother of Melissa Rivers. Rivers was also known under the pseudonym Joan Rivers.
Throughout her career, Rivers received multiple recognitions, including a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album.
