John II of Aragon and Navarre was born on June 29, 1398, in Medina del Campo. He was a public figure and held prominent roles such as King of Aragon, King of Navarre, and King of Sicily. He was also known by various nicknames, including Juan II, Joan II, Chuan II, Joanes II, the Great, el Gran, el Sense Fe, and the Faithless.
John II was the son of Ferdinand I of Aragon and Eleanor of Alburquerque. He was married to Blanche I of Navarre and had several children, including Alfonso de Aragón y de Escobar, Charles, Prince of Viana, Eleanor of Castile, Queen of Navarre, Blanche II of Navarre, Ferdinand II of Aragon, Joanna of Aragon, Queen of Naples, and Eleanor of Navarre. John II passed away on January 20, 1479, in Barcelona.
