Kristen Nygaard (1926-2002) was a Norwegian mathematician, computer scientist, and politician. He was born on August 27, 1926, in Oslo, Norway. He obtained his education at the University of Oslo. Kristen Nygaard is known for his contributions to computer science and was awarded the 2001 Turing Award.
In addition to his work in mathematics and computer science, Nygaard also pursued a career in politics. He held citizenship in Norway, where he also spent a significant portion of his life. Kristen Nygaard passed away on August 10, 2002, in Oslo, Norway.
