French bishop
Leopold V (born on September 10, 1586 in Graz) was the Archduke of Austria. He was a son of Charles II, Archduke of Austria and Maria Anna of Bavaria (1551–1608). Leopold V also served as the Bishop of Passau and of Strasbourg, but later resigned his ecclesiastical posts to get married. Notably, he was the younger brother of Emperor Ferdinand II.
During his life, Leopold V had several children, including Archduchess Isabella Clara of Austria, Ferdinand Charles, Archduke of Austria, Sigismund Francis, Archduke of Austria, and Maria Leopoldine of Austria. He was also a politician and a stadtholder .
Leopold V held Austrian nationality, and was a citizen of the country. He died on September 13, 1632, in Austria.
