She was the daughter of Albert V, Duke of Bavaria, and Archduchess Anna of Austria. Maria Anna was the mother of numerous children, including Leopold V, Archduke of Austria; Anne of Austria; Maria Christina of Austria; Catherine Renata of Austria; Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor; Eleanor of Austria; and Margaret of Austria, Queen of Spain.
