Margaret of Austria, Queen of Spain (born December 25, 1584 in Graz) was a politician and was the daughter of Archduke Charles II of Austria and Maria Anna of Bavaria. As the paternal granddaughter of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand I, she held citizenship in both Austria and Spain, and was known for her role as Queen of Spain and Portugal through her marriage to King Philip III & II. Margaret held multiple occupational titles, including Queen consort.
Margaret was the mother of several notable figures, including Philip IV of Spain, Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand of Austria, Infante Carlos of Spain (1607–1632), Maria Anna of Spain, and Anne of Austria. She had dual nationality in Austria and Spain.
Margaret of Austria, Queen of Spain, passed away on October 3, 1611, in El Escorial.
