Louis IV, Holy Roman Emperor, also known as the Bavarian, was born on April 1, 1282, in Munich. He was a German national. His parents were Louis II, Duke of Bavaria, and Matilda of Habsburg. Louis IV held various titles and occupations throughout his life, including Count, King, Emperor, Politician, and Duke.
Some of his official titles were King of the Romans, King of Italy, Holy Roman Emperor, and Duke of Upper Bavaria.
Louis IV was the father of several children, including Stephen II, Duke of Bavaria; Margaret of Bavaria; Agnes of Bavaria (nun); Albert I, Duke of Bavaria; Otto V, Duke of Bavaria; Beatrice of Bavaria; Louis V, Duke of Bavaria; Matilda of Bavaria, Margravine of Meissen; Louis II, Elector of Brandenburg; William I, Duke of Bavaria; Elisabeth of Bavaria (1478–1504); and Margaret of Bavaria, Duchess of Slavonia.
During his reign, Louis IV had several partner organizations, one of which was Antipope Theodoric. He was also the owner of Pfalzgrafenstein Castle.
