Magdalena Martullo-Blocher is a Swiss executive, politician, CEO of Swiss chemical company EMS-Chemie, executive vice-chairman of the board of directors of the EMS Group, and member of Swiss Parliament.
Magdalena Martullo-Blocher holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of St. Gallen. Prior to joining EMS in 2001, she held management positions at Johnson & Johnson and Rivella, a Swiss beverage company. She became a member of the EMS Board of Directors in 2001 and vice chairman in 2002. In 2004, Martullo-Blocher took took over as CEO when her father, Christoph Blocher, was elected to the Swiss Federal Council and sold his shares in EMS to his four children. In 2004, she became a member of the Executive Board of the Swiss Business Association for Chemistry Pharma Biotech, where she leads the Board Committee on Economic Policy for science industries. In 2015, Martullo-Blocher entered politics and was elected to the Swiss Parliament as a member of the Swiss People’s Party of the Grisons. She serves as vice president of the Swiss People’s Party and is a member of the party leadership committee, where she is responsible for economic policies. In 2017, she was elected member of the Executive Board of Economiesuisse, the national Swiss business federation. Martullo-Blocher is married with three children and resides in Feldmeilen, Switzerland.
