Martin Heidegger was a German philosopher and poet , born on September 26, 1889 in Meßkirch. He held citizenship in the German Empire , Weimar Republic , Nazi Germany , and West Germany. Heidegger was educated at the University of Freiburg and the University of Marburg. His doctoral advisor was Heinrich Rickert.
Throughout his career, Heidegger had numerous doctoral students, including Hans-Georg Gadamer, Hans Jonas, Jacob Klein, Victor Farías, and Herbert Marcuse. Some of his notable works are Being and Time, Introduction to Metaphysics, and Black Notebooks.
Heidegger's nationality was German , and he had a partnership with the famous political theorist Hannah Arendt. Martin Heidegger passed away on May 26, 1976, in Freiburg im Breisgau.
