Matt Bornstein is an investor and partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). Bornstein has been a partner at a16z since 2019 and serves on the company's enterprise deal team, focusing on new data systems and technologies related to artificial intelligence (AI). Prior to a16z, Bornstein worked at Blumberg Capital and led investments in companies including Pachyderm, SigOpt, and SmithRx. He has also worked at venture capital firms Correlation Ventures and Greycroft Partners.
In 2003, Bornstein founded Smarter Feedback, a software as a service (SaaS) platform for human resources performance management. In 2004, he founded DormSnacks, a delivery service for students at Brown University dorms. He served as DormSnacks's CTO.
Bornstein received a bachelor of science in mathematics from Brown University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
