Meetup is a New York CIty-based company that has designed a platform for networking and socializing through events in the user's local area. The platfrom has 49 million registered users and there are an average of 15,000 events organized every day. It was acquired by AlleyCorp in 2020.

Users can visit the Meetup website or download the mobile application on Android or iOS devices. To RSVP to an event, users can sign in by creating an acocunt or by using their Facebook, Google, or Apple account. Events can be found through a search feature where users enter a type of event they want to attend and the location where they want to attend the event. Events can also be organized to be held online. The site is designed to bring users together by common interests, such as books, games, pets, and hobbies. Users can also search for events by topic, such as tech, career and business, health and wellness, food and drink, learning, and more.Users can also create their own events and groups dependingn on their interests.
