Michael I. Jordan is a computer scientist, statistician, and professor with the highest academic rank. Born on January 1, 1956, in Maryland, Jordan holds citizenship in the United States. He received his education from the University of California, San Diego and currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Throughout his career, Jordan has mentored a number of notable doctoral students, including Andrew Ng, Zoubin Ghahramani, Kurt Miller, David Blei, Ahmed Alaoui, Eric Xing, Emanuel Todorov, Yuchen Zhang, Ariel Kleiner, Patrick Flaherty, Robert Jacobs, and Philipp Moritz. His doctoral advisor was Don Norman.
