Mildred Dresselhaus was born as Mildred Spiewak on November 11, 1930, in The Bronx. She was a physicist and engineer from the United States. Dresselhaus passed away on February 20, 2017, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Dresselhaus received her education from several institutions, including Hunter College High School, Hunter College, Radcliffe College, and Cornell University. She also attended Harvard University and the University of Chicago. Her doctoral advisor was Enrico Fermi.
Dresselhaus was honored with numerous accolades throughout her career, including being inducted into the 2014 National Inventors Hall of Fame.
