Mobile Premier League, commonly abbreviated into MPL, is a mobile gaming application holding mini-game tournaments through its platform. It was established by Sai Garimella and Shubham Malhotra in 2018. As of August 2019, the application is available in India and Indonesia. The company’s headquarters is located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
MPL allows users to participate in several types of gaming contests, which are held in-game, as individual users or by forming teams with other users. Game types available include racing games, sports games, and first-person shooting games. Some of these contests occur in real-time (such as 1-vs-1 Battles), while others are held asynchronously. A number of these contests offer monetary rewards to the winners. The mobile application is available for Android and iOS users.
Since November 2018, MPL has held two funding rounds which managed to raise a total capital of $40.5 million. Its most recently held one was a Series A on April 2019, accumulating $35.5 million from investors such as Sequoia Capital, Times Internet, Base Partners, BEENEXT, and Venture Highway.
