Nino Rota (1911-1979) was an Italian composer, pianist, teacher, actor, screenwriter, lecturer, and musician. Born in Milan and a citizen of Italy, he was educated at the Curtis Institute of Music, University of Milan, Milan Conservatory, and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
Throughout his career, Rota composed in various genres, including opera, symphony, film score, 20th-century classical music, and classical music. He was also a film score composer. He received the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for his work in the music industry.
Nino Rota passed away in Rome on April 10, 1979.
