Niranjan Shah is the CEO of Globetrotters Engineering Corp in Chicago.
Both Globetrotters Engineering Corporation and Globetrotters International Inc. are Chicago-based engineering, architecture, consulting services, and construction management companies. Shah founded both firms in 1974 and worked as the company’s first employee. As of March 2020, Globetrotters employs over 250 professionals and has overseen hundreds of millions of dollars in projects since its founding.
Since founding Globetrotters, Niranjan Shah has become involved in giving back to the community through philanthropic endeavors. He is involved with the Shah Center at McHenry County College, Leading India’s Future Today (LIFT), and Sister Cities Internationals. In 2006, Shah received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in acknowledgement of his positive contribution to U.S. society. That same year, the government of India presented him with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award. In addition, Shah is very passionate about philanthropy and has donated to a wide array of organizations he is passionate about. In fact, Shah remembers the first time he heard of Mahatama Ghandi's death at 4 years old. Today, his family honors Ghandi with an annual luncheon.
