After the successful sale of Sandora, Raimondas Toumenas and his partner Igor Bezzoub (he passed away a few years later) decided to stay in Ukraine and in 2008 the investment company BT Invest was established, which created the trading company Novus in 2009. The company developed mainly in Kiev. In 2017, the network of food retailer Novus had 44 stores located in 6 regions of Ukraine. The Novus chain's revenue for 2019 was 11.5 billion UAH. A 2019 investigation by Radio Liberty stated that Novus operated in Crimea despite EU sanctions, but the Lithuanian Prosecutor General's Office stated that the Lithuanian company did not violate European Union anti-Russian sanctions. In 2020, Novus received a $100 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
