Omise Payment (Company) is a payment service provider that allows businesses to securely accept payments across Asia. The company operates across Thailand (headquarters), Japan, and Singapore.
Omise was founded by Jun Hasegawa and Ezra Don Harinsut in June 2013. Ezra Don is the current CEO of Omise Payment which operates under Omise Holdings, a parent company of Omise Payment, OmiseGo, and GO Exchange.
In 2014, the company obtained its PCI-DSS 3.0 certificate making it one of the first in Thailand to receive certification in all 3 scopes (transmit, process, and store card details).
In 2015, Omise officially launched its payment gateway services in Thailand and later in 2016, the company expanded its services to Japan.
In 2017, Omise acquired Paysbuy, an online payment service provider formerly owned by Thai mobile operator, DTAC. The acquisition granted Omise access to Paysbuy's assets and available services.
In the same year, the company launched its payment gateway services in Singapore and added additional payment features of Internet Banking and Alipay for merchants in Thailand. It also joined the Thailand E-Payment Trade Association (TEPA) in August.
From 2014 to 2016, Omise received over $25 million in funding from its investors, including East Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, 500 Startups, and SBI Asset Management.
In 2017, Krungsri Finnovate, a subsidiary of Bank of Ayudhaya, successfully led Series B+ funding for the company.
In 2018, Omise received further strategic investment led by Global Brain.
