Peter I of Portugal , born on August 4, 1320 in Coimbra, is known for being the third, but only surviving son of Afonso IV of Portugal and Beatrice of Castile. He held the occupation of a politician and later became the King of Portugal. Peter I's nationality was Portuguese. He was also known by other aliases, such as Pedro I, the Just, the Cruel, o Justiceiro, King of Portugal, and o Cruel.
Peter I was a father to several children, including John I of Portugal, Ferdinand I of Portugal, Maria of Portugal, Marchioness of Tortosa, John, Duke of Valencia de Campos, Denis, Lord of Cifuentes, and Beatrice, Countess of Alburquerque. His parents were Afonso IV of Portugal and Beatrice of Castile (1293-1359).
Peter I was married to Constanza Manuel. He died on January 18, 1367 in Estremoz.
