Roland Berger is an entrepreneur and businessperson from Germany. He studied business administration in college, and after becoming a consultant and eventually a partner at a consulting firm, he founded his own consulting firm in 1967. The firm uses his own name, and Berger worked as CEO and was on the supervisory board in various capacities until 2020.
Throughout his career, Berger sat on various councils and boards, including the High Level Group on Administrative Burdens, the Oxford Martin Commission, and the Business Advisory Council of the State Premier of Saxony-Anhalt.
Roland Berger set up the Roland Berger Foundation in 2008, which is an funded organization that is dedicated to global protection of human dignity and human rights. The organization also gives funding to underprivileged students from Germany and Italy so they can have quality primary and secondary education with the hopes of them being accepted to a good university.
In 2019, investigative journalists revealed that Roland Berger's father was heavily involved with the Nazis. He was a member of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP) for thirteen years and worked as chief financial officer of the Hitler Youth. He held other positions and benefitted from the Nazi party and its ideals. Roland Berger had told the press for more than two decades that his father was a victim of the Nazi party until several news outlets reported the aforementioned facts.
