Ruslan Petrovich Rotan (Ukrainian Ruslan Petrovich Rotan; born October 29, 1981 ,Poltava) is a Ukrainian footballer, midfielder, coach. Head coach of the youth team of Ukraine (under 21). As part of the Ukrainian national team, he reached the quarterfinals of the 2006 World Cup. Finalist of the Europa League 2015 as part of Dnipro.
From the age of six he studied at the Poltava Youth Sports School "Vorskla". At the age of 12, on the advice of the first coach Alexander Gornostaev, he decided to try his hand at the Dnepropetrovsk sports boarding school. Ruslan passed the selection and ended up in the double of Dnipro, later he got into the first team. He made his debut in the Premier League on November 7, 1999 in a home game against Kryvbas (1:0). With the arrival of Dnipro, Yevgeny Kucherevsky became a solid base player, winning the championship bronze with the team.
In the summer of 2005, Rotan moved to Dynamo Kiev. He immediately got a permanent place in the base. But the second season in the Kiev team was not the best in Ruslan's club career - Rotan lost his place at the base, received several very unpleasant injuries, did not have constant playing practice and, as a result, left Dynamo, having played 50 matches for the team and winning championship and two cups.
In the winter of the 2007/08 season, Rotan returned to Dnipro.
In 2015, with the Dnipropetrovsk team, he reached the final of the UEFA Europa League.
In the summer of 2017, he signed a one-year agreement with Slavia Prague.
On December 27, 2018, he headed the youth team of Ukraine (under 21).
