Sara Du is the cofounder and CEO of Alloy Automation.
Du is the child of immigrant parents, and she was raised in suburban Georgia. She attended Harvard University and took a leave of absence after one year. Soon after, she cofounded Alloy and has not returned. Before cofounding Alloy Automation, Du held brief stints at tech companies and venture capital firms, including Snap, Wish, DoNotPay, 8VC, Dorm Room Fund, and Sway Ventures.
Du cofounded Alloy with Gregg Mojica in 2019. The two met through a community of open-source developers. Alloy began as a side project to help their influencer friends create custom code for tasks such as automatically uploading Instagram pictures to Shopify. Du and Mojica decided to continue building their tools into a platform that could be used by e-commerce store owners to automate store operations. Alloy Automation offers workflow automation tools using a simple drag-and-drop interface and a marketplace of templates for the immediate implementation of various business strategies. In February 2022, Alloy Automation raised a $20 million series A round from a16z.
