Sentient Technologies

Sentient Technologies, also known as Sentient, was a San Francisco-based company that specialized in developing business solutions using artificial intelligence (AI). Its solutions benefitted other businesses seeking to improve financial decisions and general business decisions. The company was founded in 2007 and was sold in 2018, with some of its technology acquired by Cognizant and other products bought by Evolv Technologies.

Sentient used AI to develop B2B solutions. Its main product was a platform that could be used in multiple industries, including finance, marketing, and healthcare. The platform used deep learning, bayesian techniques, and evolutionary algorithms to give users insights into their businesses with the intention of making good business decisions for better return on investment (ROI).

Its first product was intended to be used by hedge funds to manage positions in a fund. Sentient developed two more products, Sentient Aware and Sentient Ascend, for e-commerce businesses so they could improve their conversion rates and customer relationship management (CRM).
