Tesat-Spacecom is a manufacturer of payload equipment for communication satellites. The equipment the company offers includes traveling wave tube amplifiers, multiplexers, waveguide switches, and modulators for quality optical terminals for data transmission via laser. Tesat-Spacecom delivers laser terminals for a range of applications, such as the space-based data communications module, which can transmit up to 1.8 Gbps over distances of up to 80,000 kilometers; data transmission in low-earth orbit (LEO) units, which offer data transmission at a rate up to 1.8 Gbps at distances of up to 45,000 kilometers; and small satellite modules for direct-to-earth data transmission of speeds of 10 Gbps. Operations services refers to the skills regarding a full product lifecycle, from design to manufacturing, testing, and quality inspection, with a specialization in hybrid microwave manufacturing of complex modules. Engineering services provided by Tesat-Spacecom are considered to be offered earlier in the development, as their engineers have expertise in areas from microwave to semiconductor development and passive and optical communication systems, which can help others develop and integrate those modules and systems into their platforms.
