AO Biome, Abbott Nutrition, CosmosID, Diversigen, Mayo Clinic, Second Genome, and Whole Biome are credited as having provided funding and support for the launch of TMBC. Membership to the organization is open to any company, entity, or individual that has the common goal of advancing the commercial success of microbiome research and products. Its stated goals are to provide education about the topic and improve regulatory engagement and standards.
