Transit is a planning mobile application that is designed to help drivers navigate through 200+ cities. The company was founded by Guillaume Campagna and Sam Vermette in 2013, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The application is meant to simplify local travel in various cities around the world. The interface displays all nearby transportation options and departures, which allows users to plan trips, set reminders, and to get notifications about disruptions. The application also integrates other transportation modes for bike sharing, car sharing, and Uber to allow customers to determine the best option to get from location to destination.
Transit looks to allow customers to plan their trips, provide options for layouts, with real-time data for time-based accuracy. They have developed a personal robot named GO that provides instructions for and during transit to help users make a successful journey. Users can share the way they travel across town or to destinations whether by using Uber, biking, in a car, or through public transportation and other options.
The Transit App has partnered with companies such as masabi, Token Transit, MDOT, Edmonton Transit System, DIVY, bixi, Communauto, Uber, Lyft, and Via.
