Tjalling Koopmans (1910-1985) was a Dutch-American economist, mathematician, and physicist (슍자쌩렌). Born in 's-Graveland, Netherlands, Koopmans pursued his education at institutions such as University of Oslo, Leiden University, Utrecht University, and the University of Amsterdam .
In his career, Koopmans made notable contributions to economics and mathematics, becoming known for his work on the Ramsey–Cass–Koopmans model . He also developed Koopmans' theorem. In 1975, he was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his contributions to the field.
During his academic career, Koopmans was a doctoral advisor for several students including Charles C. Holt, Guillermo Calvo, Stanley Reiter, Carl Christ, and Robert H. Strotz . Tjalling Koopmans passed away in New Haven, Connecticut in 1985 .
