Novel lettuce, such as lettuce designated SSC3237 (a.k.a., ‘SUREFIRE’) is disclosed. In some embodiments, the invention relates to the seeds of lettuce SSC3237 (a.k.a., ‘SUREFIRE’), to the plants and plant parts of lettuce SSC3237 (a.k.a., ‘SUREFIRE’), and to methods for producing a lettuce plant by crossing the lettuce SSC3237 (a.k.a., ‘SUREFIRE’) with itself or another lettuce plant. The invention further relates to methods for producing a lettuce plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic plants produced by that method and to methods for producing other lettuce plants derived from the lettuce SSC3237 (a.k.a., ‘SUREFIRE’.
