United Launch Alliance is a company that looks to provide launch services and spacecrafts to the United States government. The company was founded in 2006, in Centennial, Colorado, United States.
The company has had a combined amount of 135 consecutive launches between their Atlas and Delta rocket families, which have been launching since 2006. The company is interested in introducing a new line of rockets known as the Vulcan family. United Launch Alliance holds its program management, engineering, testing, and mission support functions at their headquarters in Denver, Colorado, United States. With manufacturing, integration operations, and assembly they work from Decatur, Alabama, and Harlingen, Texas. Launching operations take place in either Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, or the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
The company launched a mission to Mars at the end of July, 2020 from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. They used an Atlas V rocket to carry the Preseverance rover for Nasa, making this trip the 20th time ULA has been to Mars. The Atlas V rocket was equipped with a 541 configuration, with four solid rocket boosters, and a total of five satellites in order to make its ten month journey.
