The University of California, Davis (UC Davis) is a public educational institute located in Davis, California, United States. Established in 1905, UC Davis is a subsidiary of the University of California. It is an accredited institution by WASC Senior College and University Commission, Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET, the American Bar Association, and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
UC Davis is affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Association of American Universities, Association of Pacific Rim Universities, National Athletic Association, Association of Public and Land, and the University of California System.
The university operates in various industries, including education, higher education, and university. It also focuses on electronic design automation. UC Davis' motto is "Fiat Lux".
Several subsidiaries are run by UC Davis, including the Student Startup Center, Entrepreneurship Academies, Venture Catalyst, Keck Center for Active Visualization in Earth Science, Mondavi Center, Bodega Marine Laboratory, UC Davis Fire Department, UC Davis Arboretum, and the Center for Quantum Mathematics and Physics (QMAP). UC Davis also spun out a company called Amaryllis Nucleics.
