Walkie Labs is a software company specializing in voice and video communication software development. The company was founded in 2014 and has since expanded to provide systems in over fifty countries. Walkie Labs develops Push-to-Talk Over Cellular (PoC) platforms and wireline support for digital mobile radio (DRM) systems from Hytera, Excera, Kirisun, and more. Eugene Ermolenko currently serves as CEO.
Walkie Labs has over 500 installations in 2021 and supports over 10 PoC device vendors and 3 DMR vendors. The company joined the Digital Mobile Radio Association in 2019, which is responsible for ensuring technology standardization through support for application developers, system integrators, and radio users through training, education and certification programs.
Walkie Fleet is Walkie Labs's core product, including a range of communication services.
WalkieFleet includes Voice PTT, which uses professional two-way radio technology for individual and group communication. The feature allows users to press a button to talk immediately, without confirmation from the receiving party.
Walkie Talkie communication is powered by video, and transmitted together with voice features. The Video PTT feature allows sending real-time video and is available for individual and group communication.
WalkieFleet messenger allows real-time exchange of text messages, images, and files. The messenger is available for both private conversations between individual users and communication within the group.
WalkieFleet has GPS tracking capability to determine the location of the fleet member. Two options are available on the platform: single requests or time-lapse requests, with periodic location updates at regular intervals. A location request can be applied to both a single user and a group, and WalkieFleet supports Google Maps and OpenStreetMap for location tracking.
Remote monitoring allows capturing voice and video from client devices, shown in the WalkieFleet dispatch console and recorded on WalkieFleet server.
The WalkieFleet dispatcher can remotely modify user configuration settings and send them updates.
Emergency and Man Down alerts, emergency receivers, high priority emergency call, and an on-screen SOS button in the mobile client are defined in customizable emergency profiles. An emergency report in the dispatch console shows detailed information about all emergencies for a given time interval.
WalkieFleet offers server backups, which automatically replicates all networks, users, and groups from the master to the backup server. All clients are automatically transferred to the backup server in case of the master failure.
All voice and video calls are recorded on the WalkieFleet Walkie Talkie Server. Each voice conversation is recorded into mp3 file, with video calls recorded into mkv format.
WalkieFleet PC Dispatch Console is a Windows-based application providing dispatch control capabilities over multiple WalkieFleet communication networks. The Dispatch Console platform delivers an integrated communication environment for both PoC and DMR fleets.
Capabilities include user block and unblock, event logging, location history tracking, and reporting tools in addition to all the functions of WalkieFleet.
PC Dispatch console connects to WalkieFleet Server under a dispatcher account, created using server manager. Each dispatcher can be assigned with one or several WalkieFleet communication networks.
PC Dispatch console has extended capabilities to receive and make the calls. Unlike the mobile client, dispatch application can receive and make several calls at the same time.
Walkie Labs has a range of digital mobile radio (DMR) integrations, including DMR networks, radio checks, message exchange, voice calls, and location tracking. The platform supports DMR vendors including Excera, Hytera, and Kirisun.
The DMR Application Interface (AIS) is a SIP based interconnection for DMR Tier II and Tier I radio network voice and data communications, developed by the DMR Association. Walkie Labs is a Category 2 member of the DMR Association, meaning it is authorized to develop solutions based on AIS interface.
