Weights and Biases is a software company that makes developer tools for machine learning (ML). The San Francisco-based company was cofounded by CEO Lukas Biewald, CISO Chris Van Pelt, and CTO Shawn Lewis in 2017. In 2022, Weights and Biases raised a $135 million Series C round at a $1 billion valuation.
Weights and Biases offers a developer-first MLOps platform as a service. The platform provides end-to-end MLOps workflow designed to help developers create machine learning projects more efficiently. Weights and Biases allows users to track machine learning experiments, version and iterate datasets, evaluate model performance, reproduce models, visualize results and spot aggressions, and share results with coworkers or colleagues.
Weights and Biases uses a tier system for its pricing, beginning with a free tier intended only for personal use. Free users have access to unlimited experiments and tracked hours, as well as 100 GB of storage and artifacts tracking. For corporate use, Weights and Biases offers a starter tier, which ranges from $50, $100, or $150 per user per month, depending on the desired number of tracked hours. The company also offers an enterprise tier for an undisclosed amount.
