William Cullen (born April 15, 1710, in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, and died February 5, 1790, in Edinburgh) was a physician, chemist, writer, psychiatrist, and surgeon from the Kingdom of Great Britain. He is an instance of a person.
Cullen received his education at the University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, and Hamilton Academy. His mother was Elizabeth Robertson, and he had two sons: Robert Cullen, Lord Cullen, and Henry Cullen.
William Cullen was a doctoral advisor to chemists Joseph Black and Benjamin Rush, and physician John Morgan. He himself was under the guidance of Andrew Plummer during his doctoral studies.
