Wolfgang Ketterle

Wolfgang Ketterle () is a German physicist born on October 21, 1957, in Heidelberg. He holds German citizenship. Ketterle has studied at Heidelberg University, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, and Technical University of Munich.

During his academic career, Ketterle was a doctoral student under the supervision of Herbert Walther and later served as the doctoral advisor for Martin Zwierlein. Ketterle's work as a physicist has been recognized with the 2001 Nobel Prize in Physics.
