Airspace Intelligence is an aerospace company, founded in 2018 by Phillip Buckendorf, Kris Dorosz, and Lucas Kukielka. The company develops aerospace software designed to facilitate the usage of airspace data. The offered software utilizes artificial intelligence, machine learning, and large-scale computing to transform flight operations at airlines.
On May 25, 2021, Alaska Airlines and Airspace Intelligence announced the signing of a multi-year contract for the use of Flyways AI. Developed by Airspace Intelligence, Flyways AI is a 4D mapping, predictive and recommendation platform for commercial air operations. The platform utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to help dispatchers make flight operations efficient and sustainable by optimizing routes and fine-tuning the predictability and flow of airline traffic.
Airspace Intelligence has applied AI in the following commercial and government operations:
- Airline operations control—offers airlines, from leaders to operators, a system-wide, predictive view of operations on a unified operating platform
- Flight operations—streamlines flight operations by optimizing flight paths within a set of dynamic airspace constraints
- Air traffic management—helps predict the future state of the airspace to facilitate traffic flow management decisions
- Airspace monitoring & mission planning—provides air domain awareness and mission planning solutions to support national security efforts
