The founders of the bulletin board Avito came to Russia almost by accident. Although each of them already had similar projects in his native Sweden: Jonas Nordlander owned the Tradera.com online auction, which he sold to American eBay for $50 million. Moreover, the agreement was such that Jonas would not create a new competitor in those countries where eBay operates. On the map, the nearest country where eBay does not work is Russia. And Philip Engelbert transferred the management of the luxury goods sales service to his partner and invested in the shares of the Swedish holding Kontakt East Holding, whose subsidiary acquired the Russian Yellow Pages in 2007.
